On Thursday, the intersection of 108 Street and 132 Avenue in Grande Prairie activated its new set of traffic lights.

The County and City of Grande Prairie collaborated on the project to accomodate the higher volume of traffic on that road, improve safety for motorists, and improve connections between the municipalities.

The cost of the traffic signals lights were shared between the County and City.

The City is doing additional improvements in the area, including paving the roadway and installing a pedestrian pathway on the east side of 108 Street.

Work is anticipated to wrap up later this month if weather permits.
