The work and vision of a Sterling Riverfront Park continues with the Sterling City Council.  At the most recent meeting the council looked at the recommendations and estimated cost from the Riverfront Committee.

These recommendations included setting of priorities, a master plan, grants and a quiet zone study.  Other work considered as right now musts include improvements to the Lawrence Building with lighting, roof repairs, windows and security.  All of these are estimated to be around $2.7 million.

Others are thought of as future amenities for the Riverfront Park, such as pathway lighting.  Alderman Wise suggested using solar lights for the lighting.  He said over the years ComEd would cost thousands while sun light is free.  He said greener energy would be better.

Other amenities would be a concession, warming house and restrooms.  It is also recommended that a plaza and play area be developed.  The committee mentioned there might be future development of utilities at the park.
